Roxanne "Roxie" Kimbro

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C - Mrs. Roxanne "Roxie" Holmes Kimbro, 61, formerly of Burlington, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Universal Healthcare in Fuquay-Varina.
Roxie was born in Waterloo, N.Y. on June 13, 1952, the daughter of Richard and Alberta Oaks Holmes. She worked at WakeMed as an insurance processer and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Roxie was a former member of Harvest Baptist Church in Burlington where she volunteered with AWANA, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a very talented person who enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting or anything that involved crafts. On Aug. 20, 1976, she married the love of her life Wesley Kimbro.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and her husband of 38 years, are a son, Michael David Kimbro and wife Lisa of Willow Spring; two grandchildren, Caroline Grace Kimbro and Jacob Wesley Kimbro; three brothers, Richard Holmes of Wilmington, David Holmes and wife Laura of Bethesda, Md. and Daniel Holmes of Morrisville, N.C.; two stepsons, Neil Kimbro and Phillip Kimbro and wife Chrissy, all of Morehead City; and four stepgrandchildren, Wesley Wyatt Kimbro, Lacy Elaine Kimbro, Faith Kimbro and Ruth Kimbro.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at The Lambs Chapel by the Rev. Billy Gillespie. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. at the church and at all other times at the home of Bill and Wanda Gillespie, 4127 Shepherd Drive, Burlington. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
