Mildred Madren Obituary

SOUTHPORT - Mildred Ross Madren, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at New Gilead Reformed Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 24, 2015, officiated by the Rev. Harold Holste. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Mildred was born on October 21, 1922, in Alamance County to the late Dewey Ross and Maggie Beckham Ross Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Weldon Thomas Madren; stepbrother, Ross Smith; half-brother, Pete Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Westbrook, Gail Hedgecock; sons, Amos Madren, Tom Madren, Dale Madren; half-brothers, Dan Smith, Luther Smith; stepsisters, Margaret Todd, Betsy Albright, Mary Jane Pettigrew; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215, or American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter St, Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204.
