I first met Brother Herbie at a Coffee House Ministry then ran by New Directions Ministries Herbie was on staff . He discipled me and we became friends and brothers in Christ . If we didn't see each other for a while when we did it was like family reuniting. Later as I had my own ministry and Herbie's health declined. I would pick him up from the care home and He would be my guest Preacher . I wanted Him to feel useful for The Kingdom of God. No matter how he felt He would prepare and preach His heart out . And close with His signature song " I feel GOOD GOOD GOOD " . I now use that song and Honor Him when I minister . It hard to believe Brother Herbie and His Mentor Dr. J. L. Williams who founded " New Direction Ministries " have both passed . He and Brother Herbie spoke into my Life in a profound way and made me the man I am today . I know Him and JL are preaching to anyone who will listening in Heaven. I miss you Brother Herbie . Brian Hurdle Sr. Ordained Minister Of Christ . Burlington N.C. EMAIL: [email protected]

While we didn't get to know him as well as we would have liked to....we could see he had a huge heart and a magnificent love for Christ. He was the bright spot when we walked into Greater Love. Take your wings and fly high Mr. Herbie! Thank you Jesus for sharing your Angel with us here on Earth!

Precious, joyful, funny, and full of the Lord! Whoever Herbie encountered they left him knowing they were loved by him and Jesus. I will miss those Thursday lunch chats, picnics, and gatherings. Herbie was the first person who greeted me and gave me a hug. It brings a smile to my face to know you and dancing and singing in heaven. Thanks for being my friend and loving my family.

What an amazing gift I got when you became my friend. It was a pleasure to take care of you but most of all just to know you. Herbie you brought a smile to my face when things looked so dark and for that I'll always be greatful. I will miss you...

We were blessed to have known Herbie for many years. How beautiful the angel choir in Heaven must be with his sweet voice singing "I Feel Good". Thank you, Herbie, for your sweet spirit. We cannot be sad...Herbie has been working towards his final home all his life. Linda & Brian Hurdle

I am sorry to hear of Herbie's passing but rejoice that he is now with Jesus. I imagine heaven is really celebrating at his arrival. I have known Herbie for decades and my family was blessed to be able to spend so much time together in Connecticut. Take care of Ray for me.

I've known Herbie since I was a young child and then had the privilege of traveling with him for 3 summers with the New Directions. Never was there a man with a bigger heart and a huge love for Jesus. While I mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, I rejoice in his healing. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.
