Faye Elizabeth Beeson Killen

Funeral services for local artist, Faye Elizabeth Beeson Killen, 90, will be held at Pineville First United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service, which will be officiated by Dr. Steve Fowler and Dr. Henry Blount. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home-Ferriday.

Faye was born May 5, 1924 in Grant Parish to James Stanley Beeson, Sr. and Odessa Walker Beeson. She was a lifelong resident of Pineville, but lived her later years with her sister on Lake St. John where she passed away, September 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. Faye worked for Bell South for thirty five years where she made many friends. She was a member of the Pineville United Methodist Church, loved participating in the choir, and looked forward to hearing the music each week. In addition, Faye was a gifted artist who shared her talents with others. She was a member of the Artist Guild and had a studio at River Oaks in Alexandria for many years. She was an active member of the Garden Club of Alexandria and the Loyalty Chapter of the DAR. Faye enjoyed all of her activities and the people she met along the way.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Frank Killen; son, Bradley Michael Killen; parents, James Stanley and Odessa Beeson; and two brothers, William "Billy" Beeson and James Beeson, Jr., all from Pineville, LA.

Survivors include her sister, Joline Beeson Killen; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephew. Each has fond memories of Faye's presence in the family and most have treasured pieces of her artwork reminiscent of her talent.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Killen, Jr., Scott Beeson, Jimmy Beeson, Bryant Killen, Thomas Taylor III, Jack Little, and Jimmy Looper.

Honorary Pallbearers are her nieces, Sherry Beeson Earnest, Nan Killen Huff, Kay Killen Taylor, Tracy Killen Williams, Lorraine Beeson Dove: and close friends Dorothy and Richie Deville, Sharon Webster, Maggie Moore, and great nieces.
