Leonard Lee "Dick' Blocker

Funeral services for Leonard Lee "Dick" Blocker will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jose Vattakunnel officiating. Committal service will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.

Dick, 81, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 3, 2011 in his residence.

He was born on October 2, 1929 in Milton, Florida to James R. Blocker and Yulee Rivenbark Blocker.

He was Catholic by faith, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree from Arizona Chemical with 41 years of service as a Tall Oil Operator. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

His parents; one sister, Betty Jean Harper; one brother, J.R. Blocker; and one daughter, Christine Blocker precedes him in death.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Blocker of Oakdale; three sons, Richard Blocker and wife Sherry of Forest Hill, Mark Blocker and Jeffery Blocker both of Oakdale; one daughter, Kim Jones and husband Dennis of Jacksonville, Florida; ten grandchildren, Raymond, Joshua, Jeremy, Nicholas, Sarah, Ben, Laura Haley, Kasey, and Jeremiah; six great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Joshua Blocker, Jeremy Blocker, Raymond Blocker, Nicholas Blocker, Benjamin Blocker and Jeremiah Jones.

Visitation will be observed Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 11 a.m. until time of service in the memorial chapel.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
