Felix Melder Obituary
Graveside services for Felix Melder will be held at 11 am, Monday, January 16, 2017, in the Roselawn Cemetery of Glenmora in accordance with his wishes. The Reverend Rob McLane and Reverend Jerry Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Felix, 81, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 2, 1935 in Glenmora to the union of Croker and Elma Butter Melder. He was a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church and a 1955 graduate of Glenmora High School. Felix owned and operated Frostee Drive Inn in Glenmora and Cajun Catfish Cabin in Ville Platte. He was an avid sportsman and loved being with family and friends. Felix was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patti Melder Britt, and Geraldine Melder Willis.
He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Elaine Hines Melder of Glenmora; two sons, Robert David and wife Karen Melder of Glenmora, Mitchell H. Melder of California; one daughter, Judith Lynn and husband Larry White of Arkansas, one sister, Bethel Melder Bueche of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Miranda Laird, Cody Melder, Chad White, and Kayla White; four great grandchildren, McKenzi Richmond, Cole Richmond, Abby Laird, and Hallee Melder; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Grant Willis, Jerry Willis, Cody Laird, Cole Richmond, Cody Melder, and Chad White.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1056, Glenmora, LA 71433.
