Thelma Herron Obituary
Funeral services for Thelma Lee Clark Herron will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Brothers Gerald Holloway, Elden Mayo, Joel McMicken, Jeff James, David Messer, and Jason Messer officiating. Committal service will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Thelma, 86, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Grace Home of Alexandria. She was born June 6, 1928 in Turkey Creek to the union of Clarence and Esma Clark. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reverend John R. Herron; one grandson, Michael Scott Miller; one brother, and one sister.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: one son, John Lester (Beverly) Herron of Forest Hill; six daughters, Velda (Victor) Messer of Forest Hill, Nancy (Jerry) Day of Hartville, Missouri, Dolly (Ronald) Johnston of Oakdale, Brenda (Milford) Miller of Pine Prairie, and Linda (John) Kelso of Alexandria, and Renee (Ed) Townsend; six sisters; one step brother; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; special caregiver, Debbie Snowden of Lecompte; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Bobby Herron, John Day, Josh Day, JR Miller, Jody Snoddy, and Jeremy Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Kennedy, Leif Snoddy, and Travis Johnston.
Special thanks to the staff at Grace Home of Alexandria for the care given to our loving mother.
Visitation will begin at 3 till 11 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel and on Wednesday, March 17, 2015 from 8 am until time of service in the chapel.

Well Mama its been almost 4 yrs now since left I know you are happy in Heaven with Jesus. Maw Maw Hen, as you was known to the smaller grandkids, is now in Heaven, walking with wonder in the presence of JESUS! In my life no other person exemplified the word Christian, Saved, such as Maw Maw Herron. You could always see her sweet spirit first hand through her love and compassion. She will be missed greatly but we know she is reunited with Paw Paw Herron or "Daddy" as she called him. What a true friend we have in JESUS. Rest well Maw Maw and hug Michael for me too!
