Lozie Dear

Lozie Dear, 86, of Westlake, died at her home in Westlake, LA, surrounded by her family on Thursday July2, 2015 after a brief illness.

Lozie was a native of Wilda, LA and a long time resident of Westlake. She retired from Western Heights Elementary School Cafeteria and was a cook for the Westlake Kiwanis Club. She was a faithful member of the church of the Nazarene.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Elick and Carrie Bennett; two brothers; six sisters; beloved husband, Oliver Dear; daughters, Ida Faye Dear and Geraldine Ferguson; son, Roy Lee Dear; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Those left to honor and cherish her memories are daughters, Patricia Quinn and husband Roger, Orangefield, TX; Wanda McGee, Lake Charles and Brenda Dear Johnson and husband Wallace, Westlake; son, John Dear and wife Debbie, Bridge City, TX; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Tiny Giles, Forest Hill, LA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will continue on today, Sunday July 5, 2015 from 1:00 PM, concluding with a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Camp Eight United Pentecostal Church, 2675 LA 121, Boyce, LA 71409. The Revs. Kenneth Adamson and Michael Howard will officiate services. Interment will be alongside her beloved husband at Hemphill Star Cemetery.
