Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Gladys Rhames Simpson Paul will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with the Reverend Darryl Hoychick officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Melder.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Tracy Craig, Cody Sillavan, Devon Craig, Justin McGee, Channing Craig and Larry Gillespie.

The family asked that friends call after 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and resume Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Paul, 93, of Pineville, passed from this life Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Grace Home of Alexandria.

Mrs. Paul was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Pineville. She had attended LPN School to be able to care for her 2 little girls. She graduated most outstanding nurse and top in grade point average. What a proud day that was for us! Mom then went to work at Pinecrest Developmental Center in the hospital infirmary where she worked 24 years before retiring.

Her husbands, Walton Simpson and Lelon Paul; her parents, Edwin and Amanda Squires Rhame; a daughter, Nell Simpson; her brothers, R. V. Rhame, Tommy Rhame, Wilmer Johnson and Elmer Johnson, and her sisters, Evelyn Rhame and Myrtle Rhame Dobbins, precede her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Ann Simpson Craig; grandchildren, Brian Craig, Crystal McGee and Tracy Craig and wife, Kim; step granddaughters, Sandy, Linda, Kathy and Tammy; great grandchildren, Brittany, Channing, Paige, Cody, Hope, Justin, Devon, Lainey, Heather and Logan; eleven great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
