Joy Meylian Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Joy Marie Kirkpatrick Meylian will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at Flactor Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Koonce and Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in Flactor Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 5:00-9:00 PM and Wednesday 8:00 AM until time of services at Flactor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Joy Marie Kirkpatrick Meylian was born on August 5, 1930, in Stille, LA to Nealie and Viried Monk Kirkpatrick. She passed away on September 26, 2015, at the age of 85, at her home in Simpson, LA. She was a lifelong resident of the Simpson/Hineston area and a 1947 graduate of Simpson High School. She was a beloved wife, Mama and Maw Maw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Meylian, and a brother, Marvin Delon Kirkpatrick.
Mrs. Meylian is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Rev. Harlis Meylian of Simpson, LA; two sons, Gordon Meylian and wife Kathy of Hineston, LA, and Derrick Meylian of Simpson, LA; a daughter, Angela Meylian of Alexandria, LA; and one sister, Doris Sue Grayson of Bossier City, LA.
14 Grandchildren: Lori Meylian Rabalais (Daniel), Karyn Meylian Dogay (Martin), Kelly Meylian, Jerry Meylian (Heather), Jamie Meylian (Kelly), Justin Meylian, Kayley Meylian, Celie Meylian, Tyler Meylian, Kristie Johnson Parker (Donovan), Cody Johnson (Hanna), Allison Deshautelle, Hailey Meylian, and Mackenzie Meylian.
24 Great-Grand Children: Kathryn, Jacob, Tyler, Amber, Rylee, Lydia, Ellie, Avery, Loren, Morgan, Eli, Mary Catherine, Sara, Lindsey, Marley, Jaxon, Lilly, Tayte, Nathyn, Toby, Taylor, Hunter, Madisen, McKenzie and Maycee.
