Joseph Bartlett Obituary
Celebration services for Joseph Weldon Bartlett, Jr., will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the St. Clair Baptist Church, 940 St. Clair Road, Boyce, Louisiana under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Joseph was born December 27, 1944 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and was called home by God on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the age of 72. He graduated from Sulphur High School, attended Louisiana College, and McNeese State University, and graduated with honors from LSU Law Enforcement School and Keeler Polygraph Institute in Chicago, Illinois. For many years, he contributed as a teacher at Keeler, a committee member at national polygraph conferences, and a law enforcement officer. His career in law enforcement started at the of 18 with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and grew to include: radio operator, patrol officer, diving and water rescue, chief deputy in Beauregard Parish, and his own consulting polygraph business.
In 1991, he started some new adventures with his wife. They bought a farm near Calcasieu Louisiana to raise cattle and horses. Also, in that year they started mission work with Macedonia Missions to share God's love with others in many states and countries. Joe was an active member of the St. Clair Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, interim music director, and deacon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Joseph Bartlett, and Roselma Talbot Bartlett; and a grandchild, Tyler Joseph Bartlett.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Cloud Bartlett along with her son, Scott Willis, his daughter, Hannah and his son, David (wife Hannah) Willis; three children, Kris Lawrence and her fiancé Dwayne Greer, Pam (Mike) Hayes, and Joseph W. Bartlett III; three sisters, Meredith Mahalak, Vida (Mark) Robertson, and Barbara (Bill) Ream; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Clair Baptist Church, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., then on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. in the church.
Donations in Joe's honor may be made to: Central LA Association WMU, St. Clair Baptist Church or ministry of your choice.

I am so very sorry... for the loss of your beloved husband. I so admired your marriage, and the love that the two of you had for one another was so clearly evident. I pray you continue to lean on Christ for your strength now.
