Glenmora - Funeral services for Reverend Bert E. Riddle, Jr. were held at 10 am., Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel. The Reverends Joe Cruse, and Benji Rhame officiated. Committal service followed in Melder Cemetery of Glenmora under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.

Bro. Bert, 85, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Christus St. Frances Cabrini. He was born on December 19, 1932 in Coushatta to the union of Bert E. Riddle, Sr. and Lillie Mae Raby Riddle. He was a Baptist Minister pastoring 8 churches in Louisiana, a Social Worker, and Chaplin for Roy O Martin Company. A graduate of Louisiana College, and attended New Orleans Baptist Seminary for 2 years. He also was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jimmy Riddle; one sister, Helen Inez Riddle; and one granddaughter, Teri Slaughter.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, wife of 60 years, Rubye Melder Riddle of Glenmora; one son, Keith Riddle of Pineville; one stepson, Terry Slaughter of Dayton, Texas; three grandchildren, Lin (Kris) Landrum, Paul Joseph Riddle, and Khristopher Slaughter; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers to serve were Gene Benn, Kris Landrum, Bobby Strother, Randy Carruth, Kody Cloud, and Benji Rhame. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Landrum, Kannon LaLa, Cooper LaLa, Dalton LaLa, Vance Johnson, and Jerry Stokes.
