Lois Terranova Obituary
Born in Westerly, March 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Terranova and Diana (Stanton) Terranova.
She will sadly missed by her two sisters, Diana Mae Gilmore, of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Jane Lawson, of Westerly; her brother and sister-in-law, Stanton and Diane Terranova; nine nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews and three great-great-nephews.
After graduating from Westerly High School, Class of 1948, she went on to earn a medical secretary degree from Becker College in 1950. She returned to Westerly and worked for Dr. Joseph Ruisi for many years. Many friends remembered her fondly for those years of service with "Dr. Joe." She then worked for Stanton Realty before retiring.
Lois had a love for cooking, needlework and traveling. Her close friendships with her high school classmates extended to present day when they met once a month for lunch. The Club, as we know it, will miss her greatly.
A service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Central Baptist Church. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Baptist Church, 16 Elm St., Westerly, RI 02891.

i was lucky enough to take care of this amazing woman while she was living in the nursing home. i grew so close to her and loved her very much. my deepest condolences to family and friends may you RIP Lois

My thoughts are with all of you. Lois was a great person - very talented in her handiwork and an accomplished baker. When we met over the years (since 1949) she made some delicious desserts.
She will be remembered as a very special person and friend.

My sympathies to Stanton and the rest of the family. Lois was my parents' babysitter of choice when they wanted a night out. I remember giving her fits when bedtime rolled around, but she always managed to get the job done. Nice lady.

Lois was a sweet lady. I can recall how much fun she had with the girls on "Club" nights and how they all laughed together in unison keeping me awake past my bedtime (which I did not mind at all as a young child). Sincere condolences to her family.
