Margaret DiFrancesca Obituary

Margaret Mary DiFrancesca, 98, passed away on April 24, 2017, at her home at 9 Slater Avenue, Norwich. She was born in Westerly, Rhode Island, on February 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Dominic and Angelina (Lidestri) Blanda. She was married to the love of her life, her late husband Joseph DiFrancesca, Sr., on December 27, 1938.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Joseph and Patricia DiFrancesca, and Attorney Donald and Katherine DiFrancesca. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Joseph DiFrancesca (Karen), Trisha DiFrancesca Maynard (Mark), Attorney Beth DiFrancesca Steele (David), Neil DiFrancesca (Jennifer), Jill DiFrancesca Smith (Matthew) and Dr.
Michael DiFrancesca (Lauren) and eleven great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her sister, Rose Blanda Asselin, her nephew and godson, Normand Asselin, and seteral nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a long-time communicant of St. Patrick Cathedral and will be remembered for her undying love for her family.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Avenue, Norwich, Connecticut, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick Cathedral, 213 Broadway, Norwich, Connecticut. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 815 Boswell Avenue, Norwich, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick Cathedral Parochial School in Norwich. Please visit www.labenskifuneralhome.com to leave an online tribute or condolence.
