On the one year anniversary of Bob's passing we were reminded of how great a person he was after receiving a CD of the MEMORIAL SERVICE held i9n his honor. We loved to hear his favorite hymns and the Rev. Sipple and Scholis comments on his life were such a wonderful tribute to an exceptional friend and pastor. We'll always cherish the wonderful times together both in Worthington and here at our lake house in Texas.

It's been many years since I've interacted with Rev Chiles, but I will always remember his kindness and compassion. May his family find comfort during this time of loss.

Morning everyone, When I thought about Uncle Bob, I remember him helping me with my piano lessons when we were back in Ohio, he had me put a quarter on the back of my hand to steady my hand movements.
I always told people I remembered Mom and Dad's wedding, much to their chagrin, but it was being the ring bearer for Aunt Carrol and Uncle Bob. So Sorry I counldn't be there to celebrate one of the truly GOOD guys in my life. I have great memories through my whole life. Love you all,
Trahy

I remember Bob Chiles well from many years ago when we would see him at a family gathering. I remember talking to him as he was such a humble man and was truly dedicated to his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our genuine condolences to all his family in this difficult time. Bob was God's blessing to us. He loved life, laughter, and the Lord. Bob brought so much joy to my best friend, his lovely wife Carla and all our Hilliard High School Class of 1962. At our 50th Class Reunion, Bob (our adopted classmate) led our worship service in the loft of a beautiful barn. He spoke with Love in his heart and with Thanksgiving. I will always remember Bob with the twinkle in his eye as he teased us 3 C's (Carla, Carol, and Connie). He gave the gift of happiness to others and rejoiced in their happiness. Yes, Bob, you are our Honorary "C" and will
live in our hearts forever. Peace and Love to you, Carla, and all your awesome family.

I was fortunate to do part of my growing-up at the Chiles' home. My best memory is singing grace before we ate. Rev. Chiles could really belt out a tune! Sometimes at church he would make us stop singing a hymn and start over and sing it like we really meant it! I cannot help but smile when I think of him. Your family is precious to me and I will be lifting you all in prayer. Much love-

Bob was a wonderful pastor and a dear friend. We met him 20 years ago when we moved to Dublin, OH, and were connected immediately as we had learned that Kristin's husband, Dave was part of the youth group in the 70's when our kids were at Grace Methodist in Wyckoff, NJ. In our 10 years in Worthington, Bob was our pastor, we worked with his children on various church activities. He was extraordinary: a clergyman who could preach, be an effective administrator, and excel at pastoral calling. We shared times together in the "book club", eating popcorn and listening to him play carols at Christmas. Once we moved to Texas, we had the pleasure of having Bob and Carla visit us twice. Dave Markay came to our church a few years ago to talk about the ministry they had in Milan, so the family has a connection here.
We share this loss with Carla and the family, but he had a life well lived and touched the lives of so many people.

He was a dear, sweet man who has made a difference in my life..and in the lives of many others. I always enjoyed hearing him speak. It wasn't just what he said or the common sense that he shared with us, but also how he spoke. He had a wonderful blend of seriousness with a great sense of humor. He had a sparkle in his eye, a lilting laugh, and, I suspect, an ornery side. :-)
He taught us so much, was a great role model, was a great listener, and was a wonderful person. No matter what kind of day I was having, I always smiled when I saw him or thought of him. Even now, although I am very, very sad to hear this news, I smile a little when I think back on the memories and how he has made a difference in so many lives and has positively influenced so many of us. :-)
Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with all of you. We are so very sorry for your loss; but, we know that your love and strength will help you through this difficult time. :-).
