Rose Dank Obituary

DANK Rose Dank, 96, passed peacefully on January 7, 2011 at St. Anne's Hospital in Westerville, OH, after suffering a serious fall. She will be terribly missed by both her daughter, Elaine Freeman of Westerville and her son, Alan Dank of Newburgh NY, their spouses, and her grandchildren, Amy Nolan, Stuart Bernstein, Roy Dank, Teri Mendoza, Cindy Adelman and seven great-grandchildren. Rose grew up in New York where she survived the death of her daughter Judith Plaut. Rose was a courageous woman, helping built P38 Lightening Fighters at Lockheed Aviation in California during World War II. Friends called her Rosie the Riveter but she touched the lives of everyone she knew.

I only knew Rose for a short time, but she touched my heart. Her wonderful accent, and witty sense of humor always made me smile, and her memories of Macy's were always so fun to listen to. I miss her every time I walk by her room. She will never be forgotten. I loved her.
