Dorothy Lesko Obituary

LESKO Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Lesko (Tomsic), age 86, formerly of Strabane, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2012. She was born the seventh child, of the seventh month, on the seventh day, July 7, 1925 in Strabane, PA to the late Gertrude and Michael Tomsic. She was happily married to her husband of 55 years, the late C.M. Sgt. Joseph A. Lesko. Dorothy is also preceded in death by sisters Josephine (John) Verholtz, Mary (Frank) Pleskovich, brothers Joe, Mike and John Tomsic. The Air Force was a part of Dorothy and Joe's lives for 30 years until Joe retired in 1971. They were stationed at (Lockbourne) Rickenbacker AFB then moved to Groveport and called it home for 46 years. Dorothy worked as the "Hat Check Gal" (cloak room) at the N.C.O. Dorothy and Joe loved to dance and many times were the couple to watch on the dance floor. A mother and military house wife all her adult life, she made everything perfect. She was our rock, the glue that kept our family together, our beautiful mother. She loved life; age was just a number to her; it's how you felt inside that mattered; she was young at heart. I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful lady, and friend to my mother, and family. We too are an Air Force family, and enjoyed lots of fun with Dottie, and her girls, at the NCO club swimming pool. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family, and friends, at this difficult time.

My condolences to the Lesko family on theirt loss. I remembered Dottie as the "Hat & coat" check lady at Lockbourne and Rickenbacker AFB NCO Club during the period I was stationed there. Dottie had a very pleasing personality and was well-liked by all who came in contact with her. May God strengthen the family during their period of grief.
