Clarence Alfred Nason Sr.

Clarence Nason Obituary

Nason Sr. passed over to be with his wife, Eleanor, on August 16, 2010. Clarence was born on February 3, 1923 in Veazie, Maine to William and Nellie Nason. Clarence is survived by his two sons and their wives: Gerald and Sheila Ann of Eureka and Clarry and Cathy Nason of Vancouver, Washington. His two grandsons, Aaron and Jared and his sisters Betty of New Hampshire and Shirley of Eureka, California. Numerous nieces and nephews round out Clarence's entire family. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; his mother, Nellie and his father, William. Clarence"s brothers: Bill, Roy, Harold, Bob and sisters: Pearl and Dot. Clarence raised his family in the new neighborhood of Brookside in Arcata. Moved from McKinleyville to Brookside in 1950. He worked at the Barrel Factory and later he joined Simpson Timber as a panel patcher up until his retirement. Clarence joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served with them for many years. The family wishes to give thanks to Sanders Funeral Home, especially to Sharron Anglin who made this occasion a very special one. Many thanks to Dr Chris Lee and his entire staff for the many years they took care of all of dad and mom's needs right up to their final days. The nurses of Mad River Home Health who went above and beyond in taking care of dad in his final days. These nurses were all so very wonderful.... thank you all. Clarence and Ellie are together now and I am quite sure that the the entire Nason family will soon make room for the rest of our clan. All in good time. Thanks for being such great parents. I too used to hang around the Nason home in the 50's & 60's. Those happy days memories will not be forgotten.

Gerry and Clarry: Your Dad was a fine and decent fellow and will be missed. He was such a pleasant man to chat with and always had a smile. Enjoyed working with him. Yours was one of the many fine families of the old Bloomfield/Brookside neighborhood. Our sincere condolences.

Gerald and Clarry. My sympathy for your dad's passing. He was one of the "community" fathers in our neighborhood, serving as a dad to visiting kids. We were fortunate there were so many and that your dad was one.

We lived behind Ellie and Clarence for about nine years. They were so sweet and always came over to say hi at the fence and comment on our garden. May there reunion be sweet.
