Doris Jensen Obituary

Born July 4, 1929 in Eureka, California. Died Nov. 27, 2010 in Reno, Nevada. Doris (Westberg) Jensen passed away at age 81 of natural causes at home with her loving husband at her side. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Alf and Ethel Westberg, her sister, Eula Farnam and brother, Jim Westberg. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Paul Jensen, brother, Robert Westberg and several nieces and nephews. Doris went to St. Bernard Elementary School, then to Eureka High, Doris and Paul graduated from Eureka High School in 1947. They were Co-Valedictorians at their Graduation. She graduated from Humboldt State College in 1951 with a BA degree and a teaching credential. Doris and Paul were married June 21, 1952. After Paul received his MD degree he joined the Army Medical Corp. they moved to Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Doris went to the University of South Carolina where she earned her Masters Degree. After moving to San Francisco she became the Supervisor of the Correctional Development Project for the School System. She continued working until 1968, when she retired. They moved to Reno Nevada in 1971. She was an avid reader, enjoyed yard work and managed the house activities. Per her request there will be no service.
