Marc Allen Brewington, 37 year old Somes Bar resident, passed away August 2, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Marc was born March 1, 1970, in Baltimore, Maryland to Allen F. and Dina Brewington. He graduated from high school in Las Vegas, and received a Bachelorâs degree in Agriculture from the University of Hawaii. Marc served in the U.S. Navy, and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. He was a veteran of the first Gulf War (Desert Storm.) Marc finished his military career in the U.S. Marine Corp while stationed in Hawaii. He then moved to Eureka where he worked as a lab technician. He met Melodee Conrad, whom he married, and they moved to Somes Bar.
Marc enjoyed being outdoors camping, mining, fishing, hunting and taking his daughter out to pick wildflowers. He loved boating and often worked on his own designs for small crafts. He often invented interesting and unusual things that entertained the local children. Marc was a dreamer and an inventor, and was seldom hampered by practicality and convention. Marc spoke and listened with his heart. Marc was loved an will be missed.
Marc left behind his wife, Melodee Conrad Brewington, a daughter, Mariah Lynn Brewington, his stepchildren, Jessica Conrad and Brandon Tripp, all of Somes Bar; his parents, Allen F. and Dina Brewington, a sister, Twila Taylor, and a brother, Nathan Brewington, all of Las Vegas. He was Uncle Marc to many nieces and nephews who will miss him.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 10, 2007, at 1:00 pm at the Karuk Community Building in Orleans.
