Marilyn Parker Obituary

was born February 6, 1931 in Long Ridge, California to Churchman and Lulu Willburn at the family homestead/ranch in Trinity County. She died November 30, 2010 at Granada Care Home in Eureka at the age 79. Marilyn attended elementary school in Alderpoint and graduated from Fortuna High School in 1950. She married Kenneth H. Parker on June 11, 1950 in Reno, Nevada and they were together for 35 years when Kenneth passed away on April 15, 1985. Marilyn had many hobbies including painting, beading, bowling, golf, singing, puzzles and crossword puzzles. She always enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events. Marilyn is survived by her children, Sherrel (Parker) and Ivan Krader of Eugene, OR, Michael and Rose Parker of Covelo, Corby (Parker) and Ronald Olsen of Garberville; grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Crystal Parker, Andrew Olsen, Aaron Parker and Cara Olsen; great-grandchildren, Jasmin Parker-Whipple, Arianna Parker, Jonathan Littlehawk Parker, Donna Eaglefeather Parker, Barrett and Kaden Leachau. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Churchman and Lulu Willburn; her husband Kenneth Parker; 11 older sibling, Esther Betts, Carolyn Reyes, Georgia Willburn, Hazel White, Florence Stevens, Merle Minnehan, Warren (Bud) Willburn, Perry Willburn, Gladys Parker, Calvin Willburn and Helen Willburn. A special thanks to the nurse's and all the staff at Granada Care Home, Dr. Wakil, Dr. Majer & Dr. Frugoni. At the request of Marilyn there will be no funeral or memorial service. Contributions can be made in honor of Marilyn to Hospice of Humboldt Arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home, Eureka.
