Dick was born on October 17, 1924 in Lansing, Michigan to Elsie and Bruce McGregor, and passed away on October 4, 2010 at the age of 85 in Eureka, California. Dick grew up on a small farm, hunting and fishing with his younger brother, Bruce, Jr.Dick excelled in school and sports, playing both baseball and football. Dick worked in financial and security fields for several companies in southern California, before getting his favorite job - the one he'd retire from - with Transamerica in 1970. As Audit Coordinator with Transamerica, he investigated fraud, theft, and other white-collar crimes, which resulted in convictions from border-to-border in both the US and Canada. Following their retirements in 1987, Dick, Mim, and their granddaughter, Jeni, moved back to Eureka into Mim's family home on Williams Street. In retirement, Dick spent many hours working on their home, taking part in their granddaughter's activities, and gardening with Mim.
