Wilma Nevers Obituary

was born August 14, 1942 in Chico, California, to Wilhemina and Clarence England. She died on November 13, 2010 at the age of 68 at her home in Eureka, California after a long battle with cancer. She fought a very courageous battle with cancer. It was her desire to live her last days at her home. Her sister, Marlene Hrdina and husband, John, were with her at her home until the end when she went home to be with the Lord. She was very grateful for her kind and faithful friends Dee Nicholson, Nancy Lee, and Pat Biagi who helped take care of her during her sickness. Wilma was one of the longest residing residents in the Mobile Estates Mobile Park in Eureka, and worked for many years as manager of the park. She absolutely loved her job and the people that lived in the park. She adored her employers Chuck and Kathy Seymore. The Seymores said she was a diligent manager, a loyal employee, and was always mindful and concerned about the safety, comfort, and needs of others in the park. Wilma enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Blue Lake Casino. She also enjoyed physical exercise, talking about good times and memories with family members. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV programs as well as watching sports on TV. Watching sports on TV often reminded her of the happy times when she would sit and watch games together with her late husband Frank. Wilma had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good tease. She was hard working, responsible and quick witted. She enjoyed different pets throughout her life, but none like her special dogs Patches and Cocoa. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Frank Nevers. She was also preceded in death by Clarence England (father), Wilhelmina England (mother), Albert England (brother), and Clinton England (brother). She is survived by Carl England (brother) and his wife Loretta, Marlene Hrdina (sister) and her husband John, her two step children Pam Gilbert and Bill Nevers. She is also survived by ten grandchildren. Pam and Larry's children: Richard, Kendra, Scott, Bryan and Amy. Bill and Cindy's children: Jessica, Jake, Billy, Kenny, and Cindy. Her grand daughters Jessica and Cindy and their mother Cindy had many beautiful memories of Wilma. Her step-daughter Pam and her husband Larry also had fun and memorable times with Wilma. Wilma had many cousins, nieces and nephews, that she loved dearly but there are just too many to name. Jim Dalin, her cousin, was very special to her. She had many friends and especially wanted to acknowledge her loving friends Pat Biagi, Wanda Levitt, Dee Nicholson and Nancy Lee. She requested that no services be held and in lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Hospice of Humboldt. Please sign the guest book at www.Times-Standard.com, click obits.

Wilma was a good friend, a staunch supporter, a great teacher, and a hard act to follow. I will miss her very much.

I was sadden to read of my class mate Wilma's passing. Before leaving the area I lived in the Indianola area and often when my husband and I would take our walks we would run into Wilma and her husband as they were out for a stroll and we would stop and share a few memories of EHS class of 60.

I pray you are at peace and Praise the Lord you are no longer in pain.

I always enjoyed Frank & Wilma when they came in to my office.

A few years back we had two goldfish in the office named Frank & Wilma.
First I told her the fish were named after them, she didn't quite believe me. Then when I told her my daughter, who was young at the time, meant to name them after the Flintstones and got the names mixed up, Wilma laughed. We made Frank & Wilma the honorary god parents of the fish.

I was very sad when Wilma told me last April it was probably the last time that I would see her. I will miss her visits.
