Dear Margaret and Family,
We know Kermit has left this earth, but he will always be with us in spirit. At every meeting of Riverside Grange his carefully chosen words gave us direction and encouragement. He lived his life by these principles.
We'll miss this worthy friend.

Margaret, I was shocked and sadden to hear about Kermits passing. Every sunny day will remind me of Kermits warm smile and laughter. And on cold rainy days remembering his smile will warm my heart. God Bless and with deep sympathy.

What a gentleman! Clearly, individuals of Kerm's character are rare indeed. I honestly don't know if they make His Model anymore. My interactions with Kermit Richardson were in the Vermont Legislature. He always had a smile for everyone, and never held a grudge or uttered an unkind word. Whether he agreed with you or not, Kerm treated everyone with respect and friendship. What a fine man. We should all hope we grow up and old to be like Kerm. Bless you, Kermit. May you rest in peace. Job well done.

Immortality
Do not stand at my grave and weep...
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift unflinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry...
I am not there. I did not die.

Granpa, you are a man that many would wish to be. You taught me so many things, compassion, unconditional love, strength, self worth, the list could go on and on. I am proud to say that I was part of your family. Each and every life you touched is better because you were there. I love you so much and think of you every moment. I find comfort in knowing you are watching over us! Spread your wings and fly!

Kermit sold me my first real estate--an octagonhal cabin with no water or electric. I loved it. He was a great guy and a quintessential Vermonter--a man of a few, but always well-chosen words, all of which you could take to the bank. My condolences to his family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
When I think about Grange I think about Kermit. His many presentations when he was National Lecturer and as National Master inspired me to be a better person and a better Granger.
Our prayers are with you Margaret and your entire family as you go through this difficult time.
