Hugh Paschall

PASCHALL, Hugh Carlton, of Ruther Glen, Va., passed away following a lengthy illness on March 31, 2011. Born March 11, 1926 in Richmond, Va., Hugh, better known as "Pop," graduated from John Marshall High School, where he served as captain of the cadets of E Company, and earned his undergraduate degree from Richmond Professional Institute. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. He later received a Bachelor of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and pastored several Methodist churches throughout Virginia for 35 years. He is survived by a loving wife of 59 years, Jayne Paschall (Martin); two daughters, Gloria Runyon (Rex) of Burke, Va. and Jayne H. Caudle of Hilton Head, S.C.; sisters, Marjorie P. Younger and Elizabeth P. Brenner; a brother, Jack F. Paschall (Joyce); six grandchildren, six nieces, one nephew and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 18580 Partlow Road, Beaverdam, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Rehoboth UMC or to Habitat for Humanity.
