FREEMAN, Sheila Hardemon, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Douglas Freeman Sr.; brother, Tony Pattullo; sister, Vera Daley; daughter, Antionette Dabel; son, Stephen B. Hardemon and his wife, Susan; grandsons, Christopher B. Hardemon and Steven T. Smith; great-grandson, Mason P. Brown; stepsons, Douglas Southall Freeman II and James Douglas Freeman Jr.; stepdaughter, Anne Douglas Freeman; and several nieces and nephews. Sheila "Peggy" was an active member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, singing in the choir for over two decades, and volunteering in the kitchen. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed singing, had a great sense of humor, liked traveling, especially to the Outer Banks, and was an outstanding cook. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, September 15, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Louise Browner Blanchard officiating. The family requests donations be made to the Music Program at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226.
