Vergie Brooks

BROOKS, Vergie Edmonds, 94, of Colonial Heights, Va., died Monday, May 31, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Brooks; daughter, Dorothy Warren Scott; and granddaughter, Gail Warren. Vergie is survived by her granddaughter, Terry Lynn Warren; three sisters, Irene Mayton and Edith Thompson, both of Blackstone, Va., and Shirley Grady of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and a brother, Bernard Edmonds of Lawrenceville, Va. Visitation will take place 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., near Blackstone. Funeral services to be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the funeral home, with interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Petersburg, Va.
