JONES, Lucille J., went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 27, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Haywood P. Jones; a sister, Helen Stokes; several sisters and brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Clyde Sr., Gladys and Thelma. She is survived by her sisters-in-law and caretakers, Helen J. Jackson, Deacon Elsie J. Mitchell and Louise S. Jones; a brother-in-law, Bernard L. Jones Sr. (Lozalia); a cousin, Leon Christian; and many devoted nieces and nephews, Carl Pollard (Jean), Jerome Jackson (Emma), RoseMarie Keith (Christopher), Arneathia Samuels, Cheryl Jones, Nicole Keith, Deborah Samuels, Andre Mitchell and Jeremy Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lucille Jones was known to many people as an extraordinary saleslady at Berry Burke, where she worked until retirement in the '80s. She continued in sales at Thalhimers and Franco's. Mrs. Jones was also an active member of the The Bellwood Retiree Organization and East End Chapter #79 O. E. S. PHA. Remains rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Avenue. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 11 a.m. at The Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 3200 E. Broad Street. Dr. Stephen A.G. Howard, pastor. Rev. David T. Frazier officiating. Dr. E.D. McCreary Jr., eulogist. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to service.
