James Haab Obituary

James J. Haab Sr., 86, of Richmond, formerly of Deltaville, died March 28, 2005 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and George Haab and is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Teresa Barden Haab; his daughter, Tootie; his sons, Paul and his wife, Michelle, John and his wife, Karen, James Jr. and his wife, Lyla; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. "Jim" was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Dupont after 40 plus years. After retirement, he moved to Deltaville where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Church of Visitation. He enjoyed entertaining groups with his harmonica and being on the Chesapeake Bay. The family will receive friends at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, where a Christian wake service will be held 7 p.m. Funeral services private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
