ALMA SATTERWHITE

SATTERWHITE, Alma Stamper, 72, of Mechanicsville, went to sleep June 18, 2010 awaiting the resurrection. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mamie Stamper; and brother, Howard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who is survived by her husband of 50 years, Floyd E. Satterwhite Sr.; son, Floyd E. Satterwhite Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and their four children, Mackie, Josh, Floyd III and Katie; two daughters, Lois Satterwhite and Mayme Satterwhite; four sisters, Earliene Stamper, Jean Sprinkle, Eula Schrewsbury and Barbara Moody; and nieces and nephews. Alma was a nurse in the Richmond area for 40 years and a member of the United Church of God. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday. Final services will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, W.Va. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluewell, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Church of God, P.O. Box 561, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
