Jule Healey

HEALEY, Jule, 81, of Glen Allen, died peacefully in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Hugh Rawlins, on June 1, 2010. Jule was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Mary Catherine Ronto Flaherty and James Patrick Flaherty. Jule attended the Villa Maria Academy High School and Catherine Gibbs School. She worked for Met Life, New York Trust Company, and Bob Meeker and Associates in New York City before marrying William T. Healey on June 14, 1952. Together they raised six children in a loving home in East Northport, New York. The family attended St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church. Jule cared for many family members over the years and was known for her kindness, generosity and enduring faith. Jule and Bill moved to Glen Allen, Va. in 2004, where they joined the parish of St. Bridget Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Healey; and is survived by her six children, William Healey and wife, Cindy, John Healey and wife, Susan, Rosemary Rawlins and husband, Hugh, Peg Healey and life partner, Toni Perkins, Patricia Waters and husband, Jim, and Mary O'Brien and husband, Dan; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her remains rest at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and where a Christian Wake will be held 7 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 5875 Bremo Rd., Ste. 710, Richmond, 23226, or St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd., Richmond, 23226.
