ALLEN, Lawrence "Larry" Elder, 53, of Hanover, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, after a long struggle with cancer. Larry was a Marine Corps Veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Ashton G. Allen Jr. He is survived by his mother, Peggy N. Allen; a brother, Greg S. Allen Sr. and his wife, Patricia H. Allen; a sister, Ashley E. Allen; two nieces, April Allen Bittner and Cassie A. Fryman; two nephews, G. Scott Allen Jr. and Kenneth E. Fryman; and a host of other relatives and friends, including two special cousins, Keith Nuckols Jr. and Vernon "Bubba" Allen. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday, 12 noon. Interment to follow at Signal Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Virginia Home, 1101 Hampton St., Richmond, Va. 23220.
