DICKINSON, Cherryl Bates, 63, left this life Sunday morning January 2, 2011 after a long battle with early onset alzheimers. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Richmond, Va. She was born August 14, 1947 in El Paso, Texas to Woodrow and Lola Bates. Cherryl spent the majority of her vibrant adult life in Houston, Texas with her adoring husband, Dr. Terry D. Dickinson. Cherryl loved life and wore a smile, wherever she went. She was a marvelous dancer and a passionate, advocate for organic food and healthy living. Her beauty, enthusiasm and energy were an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband. Terry Dickinson daughter and son-in-law, Leah and David Muhlenfeld; stepson, Kevin Dickinson; stepson and daughter-in-law, Blake and Kim Dickinson; grandchildren, Lola and Oliver Muhlenfeld, Grant and Meredith Dickinson; brother, Troy Bates and her niece and nephew, Tracy Bates Westphal and Jason Bates. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave.
