The Broken Chain
We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Memaw, time is supposed to make losing you easier but my heart still aches for you. I just want to sit with you and hear your voice. It hurts so bad to know my little Jax won't get to know you in this world. I miss you so much. Love you always.

There are not enough words and if there were I cannot find them right now to explain how wonderful Hazel was. I am sure the pain your family is feeling is so deep and your spirit will remain in their hearts until the day they get to see you again. I will always remember you my friend. Memaw,
What can I say? You were always thinking of other people, myself included. As soon as I walked in your door you were asking me how I felt. I can not remember a day without you, and I am not sure how I will handle the future without your wisdom. Chloe and Mason miss you so much. Mason doesn't quite understand. Chloe is happy that you are at peace and in Heaven. You are in my heart forever. Love you always.

Memaw, I may have only known you for a few years but those years feel like it's been a lifetime. I will always remember the mornings Gary and me would come and visit. When I woke a daily thing was to show up and have our coffee together, now the morinings will feel so empty. I can't come to terms as I lose my mother-in-law who was like my mother with that one tiny thread that sewed a family and put the knot of love with every word and care to hold it. I will miss you Hazel with all my heart.

Memaw you were the light of my life from the time I was a small boy. I grew up on your chocolate pies, salmon cakes and carrot cake. You were always in my corner. The amount I will miss you cannot be measured. I will miss the morning cup of coffee we would have and the times you would have Calon over for Saturday night sleep over. One of the things that hurts the most is that you will not get to see the girls grow up to adulthood with your love as me and Jody did. Memaw you will never die, for you will live on in me and my girls hearts forever. We will see you again.

Memaw was a wonderful person. When I lived with Charlotte and Wayne she would make the most delicious treats for everyone. I remember one Christmas Memaw gave me a tape recorder and it was my favorite gift that year. Nora and I annoyed everyone with that thing! I wish I had gone to see Memaw more but I am happy to know she is in a better place. Thank you Memaw for the great memories.

Even though Hazle wasn't my true Aunt she was always " Aint" Hazle to me ! It was truely a blessing to have her in my life. She and her chocolate pies will surely be missed, but I know she is in the presence of the Lord ( and playing bingo with Lena and Dot ) My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Even though Hazel was not my real aunt I always felt she was! While everyone called her just Hazel she was always "Aint " Hazel to me !!! It was such a blessing to have her in my life. Miss Hazel was one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Any time I was in town, she opened her heart and home to me and always made me feel as welcome as if I were family. May God bless the many family and friends who are left behind to mourn the loss of this wonderful lady. You will be missed, Miss Hazel.
