AHLES, L. James "Jim," 85, of Midlothian, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 25, 2010. A native of California, Jim was the last surviving of 13 children. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, and a retired chemical engineer with E.I. DuPont. Jim was an avid gardener and loved the beach. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily; two daughters, Terry Brown (Rick) and Jill Waymack (Walter); a son, Dean Ahles (Lynne); five grandchildren, Amy Houser (Dr. Jon Erik), Eric and Maria Ahles, Tyler and Meagan Brown; numerous other loving family members and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10), Richmond, Va. 23234, where a memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment private.
