Robert M. Breckenridge

Born in Oakland, CA, Robert was predeceased by his parents George & Nellie of Berkely, CA, his sister Barbara Jane Wall of Lafayette, CA, and his son Randy (daughter in law Susan Bielman) of Larkspur, CA. He is survived by his loving wife Nelly, son Stephen (daughter in law Mary Beth Hopkins) of Milford, PA, daughter Avril (son in law Sandy Barron) of San Anselmo, CA, his grandchildren: Kyle (Taylor) of Fairfield, CA, Nathan (Carlie) of San Rafael, CA, Amelia, Cameron & Charlotte and great grandchildren: Jake, Drew & Harper.

Robert attended El Cerrito High School where he played Varsity Basketball and graduated in 1949. He then attended the University of California and was a member of the golf team. Graduating from Cal with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business Administration in 1953, he worked in Finance, which took him from the Bay Area to Los Angeles and eventually to New Jersey in 1977 where he ended his career as an Executive Vice President.

He enjoyed bowling, basketball, golf, tennis, ping-pong, softball, cards, cooking, attending NY Giants games with family & friends and telling stories, especially jokes. He relished cheering his teams including: Cal, Duke, LA Dodgers, LA Lakers, LA Rams and after moving to the East Coast; the NY Giants & NY Yankees. In retirement, Robert loved to travel and especially enjoyed driving, taking two road trips across country with his wife Nelly. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with family, and having lunch during the week with his fellow retired friends.

The Breckenridge family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
