BROWN, Bernard J. Sr., 63, of Lively, Va., passed away at his residence December 1, 2010, after a hard fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, whom he loved very much. Bernard was the owner and operator of Brown's Auto Service for 27 years. He was a trustee at White Marsh Church and was a member of the Lively Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 20 years, Patti H. Brown; two children, Bernard J. "Jimmy" Brown Jr. of Lively and Denise Brown of Waterview; four stepchildren, Tina Whithers and husband, Randy, of Callao, Kimberly Jenkins and husband, Morgan, of Remo, Wally George of Lewisetta, Annie Davis and husband, Chuckie, of Callao; 13 grandchildren, Garrett and Hayden Brown, Ashley George, Brook Rowe, Haley Cobb, Emily and McKenzie Whithers, Chance and Josh Jenkins, Chelsea and Carrie George, Ella Longenker and Haley Davis; three sisters, Betty Redman of Maryland, Cathy Scott and husband, Jerry, of Lively, Sharon Anthony and husband, Doug, of White Stone; two brothers, Billy Brown and wife, Sherri, of Lively, and Joe Brown of Saluda; two faithful friends, Buck and Brownie. Bernard was predeceased by his parents, Bernard E. and Marion B. Brown. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at White Marsh Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 3, at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Memorial contributions may be made to the Historical White Marsh Church, Inc., P.O. Box 24, Lancaster, Va. 22503.
