Alan AUGUST Obituary

AUGUST, Alan Laurence, 67, of Chesterfield County, died on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at his home with his family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Mr. August served his community in many ways, some of which are, past president of Brith Achim Synagogue, past president of Swift Creek Mill Dinner Theater, West Richmond Rotary Club and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cohen August; son, Adam August and his wife, Brooke, of Potomac, Md.; daughter, Meredith Cheifetz and her husband, Stephen, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and grandchildren, Lauren, Ben, Jessica, Ava, Maya and Alex. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Brith Achim Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Brith Achim Synagogue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I've enjoyed working with Alan through the years on the Meals on Wheels Auction. His positive outlook was an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed.
