I miss you. It was for a short time, but I'm so glad God put you in our lives. We had a ball at Chowan! We spent so much time talking about any and everything in our rooms. I remember being amazed by how fast you learned the dance routines to music videos that just came out. Then being weak while you impersonated each one of us dancing at the club. When we lost you, the fun was over, and I couldn't wait for the semester to end. We learned how to press on, but we will never forget you.

My Darling Daughter,
Saying "I love you" seems so weak and incomparable to what I feel. Nevertheless, I love you so much!!! Your family silently mulled over how we should observe the day you left us - the day of the week or the date. And we chose both of them the same way. That Friday into Saturday was all one long day for me and 13 years has not done anything to blur that memory or how I felt. It might as well have been yesterday.
I'm looking at all of the well-wishers and their shared words on this site, confirming how much you were loved. And your cousins still tell stories about you, including some things I didn't know. But I love the way they keep your memory alive!! Today I still grieve my loss of you but their stories also make me remember you with wonder. Always loving you baby!!

My Lovely baby doll! Six years later and I think people expect the ones that love you to be in less pain. If ever there was a more unrealistic expectation! Some speak about you less because they are trying to understand why it still hurts so much. I will never wonder why. Nor do I need any answers or information. Deborah: Ashley was so unique that we can't help but to miss her more and more each day; but we have to always remember what I think she would say, "Where's your faith?" I was not able to atted your funeral today b/c of school in NC but I know you looked beautiful. The only thing that keeps coming in my mind about u and I was when we sat beside each other on the bus on our way to the Bahamas. We acted like we were the Temptations and the 5 Heartbeats. How I slept on you the whole ride cause you were little. How we laughed about it cause two big people couldn't have rode 19 hours out layin' on each other (lol). Keep us while you are up there. Wow, it took me a few days to get up the courage and decide what i am going to say. Its unreal that your not with us anymore. I dont think you really know how much of an impact you had on other peoples lives. I've known your skinny behind (and yet you ate so much) since elementary school... you even followed me to college! We joked about that many of times. I dont think there was one bad memory I had of you, I don't think anyone has, and most of thoes memories were in showchoir! Every night I think of how I just wish I could dance with you one last time. However, I do know that you are dancing among the many angels in heaven. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Rest in peace Ash!

There are no words that can express the sorrow I feel for your loss. This has been a major shock to the VHS Show Choir family. My daughter Hali and Ashley were in Show Choir together, that is where I had the pleasure of working with her. She always had a smile on her face, and always willing to lend a hand. Whenever I look to the sky in the evening, I will see Ashley's Shining Star above me.

To an angel so true. Girl it seems like only yesterday we were at competition and you were teaching me how to do the Spongebob. Like they say " God always takes the good ones". It's hard not to cry when I think about your smile and the way you always had something positive to say to me when ever I was showing the worst of me. It hurts to know that You're gone. But it's not good-bye, just a see you later. Lil leeper you will truely be missed. I know you're in a better place and I hope to show you someday how well i can do the spongebob.
