To the Black/Brown family, you all lost a soldier, but his memories live on...he was a wonderful young man. Though I have not had time to be with him in the recent years, times at Ratcliffe was enough to know who he was going to be, walking him to and from class when he was younger was a privilege. He always had a smile on which brightened everyone's heart...may he continue to warm our hearts in heaven.

I know that your hearts and spirits are heavy right now. There is no greater loss, than that of your children. But know that Ashton used the life that God gave him to do God's work. He used his talents to bless God, family and friends.
Ashton was a classmate of my son, Waverly. They had been in school together since Ratcliffe. I remember when my son started going to another middle school, every morning we would see Ashton he would throw my son the peace sign and head nod. He was always a good person.
As you continue to heal from this tragedy, take the time to reflect back on all the good that your son brought to people lives...including yours. Continue to lean and depend on God. He will see you through this. Thanks to you and God for sharing Ashton with the rest of us.

The choir will sing at the funeral but it wont be the same without Ashton. I did not know Ashton very well but I know he smiled alot and always spoke to everyone. Your family is in my prayers.

Ashton was very selfless and heroic. It was amazing how he thought to put his own life on the line to save his brother. God bless Ashton and Aaron, they are two brothers truly devoted to each other. My condolences go out to their family.

To the Family of Ashton Isaiah Black:
I did not know this young man personally. However, this is what I do know about Ashton: He attended the same high school that I attended. He sang in the high school choir. He was loved and admired by so many people. I know that he was a great student and he lived each day to its fullest. Ashton enjoyed life. However, one thing stood out from everything else that I just said about him. In between the lines of everything I just said, I believe that Ashton loved the Lord. Infact, he immitated Jesus Christ. The news stated that Ashton tried to save his little brother. That is how he died. That is why he died. Ashton put his life ahead of someone else's. Didn't Jesus put his life on the line for us? Jesus died so we could live. I know that you are going to miss Ashton down here, but you WILL see him up there in heaven. God took Ashton home and he is waiting for all of us.
Please know that I am praying for you all. I pray that God will comfort you all and when you feel that you cannot face another day, lean on God and let him carry you......just like he is doing now...
