BARBARA MAYS

MAYS, Barbara Jo "Jody" Crutchfield, 56, of Varina, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Friday, April 16, 2010, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter I. Crutchfield Jr. She is survived by her husband, V. Kent Mays Jr.; mother, Gabie F. Crutchfield; her sons, Forrest, Kenny, and Scott (Lisa); five grandchildren; sister, Toni C. Gammon (Randy); brother, Walter I. Crutchfield III (Lou); sister-in-law, Veeanne Crenshaw (Buddy); and nieces and nephews. Jody had worked for Virginia Tractor Company and Engineered Services Inc., was a graduate of Smithdeal Massey Business College, and was a member of Gethsemane Church of Christ, Mechanicsville. The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Gethsemane Church of Christ, with interment in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gethsemane Church of Christ.
