Barbara ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON, Barbara Wood, 74, of Dillwyn, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Buckingham County. She was born March 24, 1935 in Wingina, Va., a daughter of the late Roland C. and Earle H. Wood. Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Lovingston High School and received a two-year business degree from Longwood College. She was a former Buckingham County Assistant Administrator. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Herman Shield Anderson of Dillwyn; two sons, William Shield Anderson and wife, Margaret, and Brian Keith Anderson and wife, Denise, all of Andersonville; grandchildren, Tyler, Amber, Brooks, and Bailey Anderson; a sister, Jackie Mann and husband, Kyle, of Waynesboro; three brothers, Roland and wife, Gloria, William and wife, Linda, all of Buckingham, and Claude and wife, Carol, of San Antonio, Texas. A funeral service will he held at Bethel United Methodist Church of Andersonville, on Saturday, November 7. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 6, at the Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 88 High School Road, Buckingham, Va. 23921. The family is being served by Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, Va.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Barbara Ann was very lucky to have such a Wonderful Family. I used to love seeing her holding her dog BB. She looked like a Movie Star walking around. We love and miss you all.
