JASPER, Charles Eldridge, with his family around him, quietly went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2009. Charles served the US Army and retired from the Devense General Supply Center after 30 years of service. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to us all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob J. and Ida Christian Jasper. He leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Keisha Murphy, Charles Comer, Michael Comer, and Trena Parham; six grandchildren, Ke'Oshay Jasper, Markese Jasper, Maiya Jasper, Charles "Asuka" Comer, Angelica Comer, and Jordan Parham; one daughter-in-law, Kazumi Comer; four brothers, Jacob Jr., Burley, James, and Calvin Jasper; three sisters, Mary V. Jasper, Vivian J. Johnson (Oliver), and Carolyn J. Mitchell (David); the Christian, Cousins, Knight, and Lomax families; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; among them devoted, Ethyl Murphy Sweeden. His remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave. Funeral services will be conducted at the Watkins Community Chapel, 2701 Garland Ave., on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment, Roselawn Memory Gardens.

To My Family, The Jasper Family:

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of my (cousin) Charles...he is truly going to be missed by the family...the last time I seen him was at Wawa about 2 months ago and he seemed to be looking so well...I would have never thought it would have been my last time seeing him...Thank GOD I did get a chance to see him...his smile will always be in my heart...and may GOD strengthen the family and other love ones during this time of bereavement...
