Dale Phelps

PHELPS, Dale Frederick, 87, of Henrico, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. His wife of 63 years, Lillie, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Gregg K. Phelps and his wife, Chris; granddaughter, Jenny Desjean and her husband, Dave; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily, and numerous friends. He was retired from Richmond Newspapers (Media General) and enjoyed his lengthy retirement by traveling and being on the go with his wife, Lillie. Dale was a member of Sandston Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. He was also a dedicated member of the Masons and resided in the Masonic Home of Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010. A Masonic Service (open to the public) will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
