Edith Fowler Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19, 2010.
FOWLER, Edith "Inez" Blue, went to her permanent home with our Lord on Friday, November 12, 2010. Her husband, Reverend D. Ralph Fowler, preceded her to heaven in 2006. Inez was a dedicated parent to her son, Don (Carol) Fowler of Locust Grove, Va.; and her daughter, Debbie (Mike) Worswick of Topeka, Kan. She leaves two grandchildren, Doug Worswick of Topeka and Michelle (Scott) Dicus of Kansas City. Inez was born in Chase City, Va., and graduated from Washington and Lee High School. She and Ralph were married in Richmond on August 15, 1941. Inez and her husband faithfully served Southern Baptist Churches in Virginia for decades. Inez served as church organist and pianist. She provided many children and adults with their introduction to music as she taught piano lessons. Inez and Ralph moved to Kansas in the late 1970s to serve at the First Southern Baptist Church of Junction City, Kansas. While there, Inez inspected daycare centers in North Central Kansas for Kansas SRS. Upon retirement, Inez and Ralph returned to the Eastern Shore in Virginia. Eventually, they returned to Kansas to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 15. Visitation at Woody Funeral Home on Parham Road will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 20. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, Kan. 66608. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.davidsonfuneral.com.

Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. I think of your mom often when I'm playing the piano or organ. I think of you whenever I ride my bike. Your family was such a special part of my life. May the specialness of your mom give you comfort.
Thinking of you!
