Edna Hale

HALE, Edna Bradford, age 92, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Richmond, died peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Hale. She is survived by her daughter, Renee' Summers of Tucson; grandsons, Sean and Christopher Summers; other relatives and close friends. Edna touched the lives of many young people through her work in Richmond Public Schools, especially through her well-known dramatic presentations. She also taught classes at Philip Morris in Richmond and worked with literacy groups in Richmond and Tucson. While in Richmond, she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was affiliated with Upsilon Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; the Richmond Moles; the Ladies Auxiliary; Richmond Funeral Directors' Association; the Original Chums; and the Gay Senoras. In Tucson, she was a member of the Red Hatters. She loved people and people loved her. A memorial service will be held in Tucson, Ariz. Condolences may be sent to Renee' Summers, 3095 N.
