Cheatham family and Slack family - We just learned of Betsy's death and are all stunned. Though we hadn't kept in clost contact, loosing a childhood friend is always sad. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Cheatham family, After just seeing Betsy at PPI, this was truly a shock. I have such fond memories of the Mattaponi with you and her and learning to water ski and all of the years after. This is such a great loss for everyone and we want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Fondly, Travis and Michelle Ellwanger

Dear Frank,
I am so grateful that you took the time to call. Ray and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. I will always remember Betsy as one of the very first professional women of EMS who was an incredible role model for a 22 year old so long ago (back when we were breaking out from the "women's auxillary" - and never looked back!).
Later she taught me about marriage and commitment (you both did!)and I treasure the fact she was one of my bridesmaids. I chose well, as did you.
All our love,
Dede and Ray

Cheatham family,
My thoughts are with you in this time of profound loss.
I met Betsy a few years ago though our work at VCU, and found her to be a trusted friend that was always willing to help anyone in need and ready to share a smile.

Betsy was a friend in both IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) and for a long time in the ISACA (Info Systems Audit and Control Assoc) Virginia Chapter where she kept active.
I will miss seeing and talking with her at these meetings. Betsy will be missed by all who knew her!

Frank,Virginia, Karen, Rebecca and Sarah. The tears you shed today will soon be replaced by the many happy memories of yesterdays. Cherish each kind and happy thought that crosses your mind and smile when you remember her face. There were good times and joyful days. It's all in God's hands now and He is in control.
