ELIZABETH RIGGLEMAN Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Jul. 27, 2011.
RIGGLEMAN, Elizabeth Giannini, died peacefully on July 25, 2011 at The Hermitage. Born on September 30, 1918 in Schuyler, Va., she was the daughter of Lewis and Clara Giannini; and the widow of Warden Riggleman. Devotion, service and loyalty to her church, friends and family were the hallmarks of her long and grace-filled life. A graduate of Blackstone College, Liz devoted over 35 years to the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church: for the Board of Christian Education, the Treasurer's Office and the Virginia United Methodist Church Credit Union, where she served as director during the last decade of her career. Liz was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. In retirement, she worked part-time as a receptionist at The Hermitage and ultimately made it her home. Her family is grateful for the attentive care she received there. Liz is survived by her sister, Rachel Habel (George); and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Arlene; and a brother, Robert. A memorial service will be held in The Hermitage chapel Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends in the chapel solarium before the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Samaritan Fund at The Hermitage, 1600 Westwood Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.
