FRANCES BRITT Obituary

BRITT, Frances Bailey, 93, of Waverly, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010. She was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church since 1946 where she was a choir member, a Sunday School teacher, and served in other positions. Mrs. Britt retired from the treasurer's office in Sussex County where she worked for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Eva Branch Bailey and her husband of 45 years, Clifton L. Britt. Mrs. Britt is survived by her sons, Daniel L. Britt and wife, Norma, and Ronald C. Britt and wife, Anne; grandchildren, Donna Mounce and husband, Brian, Bailey Britt, Alex Britt and Earl Coe and wife, Marilyn; and great-grandchildren, Austin Hague, Jamie Coe, Lee Coe, Paige Coe and Chase Mounce. The family will receive friends at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Wakefield on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Waverly United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Ivor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waverly United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 12, Waverly, Va. 23890. It is with a sad and heavy heart that we extend our condolances in the passing of our sweet Ms.Britt.
Oh, but she was such a delight and such a sweet soul. She always had a smile and a twinkle in her eye
whenever we saw her and as she always told me "yea, I'm being good. "
I know Betty will miss her especially as her friend and table companion.
Please accept our deepest sympathies and know that we loved her dearly tho only for a short while.
She will always have a special place in our hearts as well as you, her family.

Danny, Norma Jean, Donna, Austin and all that have loved Mrs. Britt. I have sadness in my heart when I think of your loss but when I think of Mrs. Britt a smile comes across my face. She was such a sweet lady and I always looked forward to seeing her. She made each of us feel special. Now she has gone through those gates made of pearls and she is smiling down on each one of us to rejoice in her life as the angels show her the way. Much love and prayers to her entire family
