Frances "Frankie" Lipscomb

LIPSCOMB, Frances "Frankie" Slate, age 64, of Deltaville, widow of Robert Kyle Lipscomb Jr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2010. She was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church and loved God, her church family, her family and Elvis. Frankie retired in 2006 from D.M.V. with 37 years of service. Survived by a son, Leo J. "Woody" Woods III of Richmond; two grandchildren, Carrie and Nick; an "adopted" loving family, Helen and Lee White of Deltaville; a dear friend, Melvin Hawley of Deltaville; her Abbie and Joshua who always brought a smile to her face; a loving sister, Lucille Fogg of St. Stephens Church; brothers, Coy Slate (Janie) of Dublin and Crocket "Sam" Slate (Gladys); a sister, Nancy Wood, both of Dabneys; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration and Resurrection of Life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, in Clarksbury United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Clarksbury United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 10, Hardyville, Va. 23070.
